Our very own "Coach A" has earned yet another credential in the field of Mental Sports Performance. He was recently named as the primary Sports Leadership Facilitator of the Naperville Central Athletics Leadership Academy. Marc is indeed passionate about developing and equipping student-athletes and coaches with effective leadership skills to be successful both in sports and life.

We're happy to continue providing support to you and your family during these trying times. The offices remain open; clinicians are available for both in-person and Telehealth sessions. The governor's stay-at-home order is in effect starting March 21 and includes allowances for essential business, including outpatient mental health care visits. The governor also issued an Executive Order requiring insurance companies to cover Telehealth sessions during this crisis. Please give us a call or message if you'd like to change the format of coming sessions. As before, we encourage you to make use of the scheduling portals (below) to make and adjust appointments.

True North happily announces the addition of Erica Malloy to our clinical staff. Erica has been a member of our administrative staff for the last four years and is now establishing her clinical practice with us. A graduate of Aurora University, Erica is a licensed social worker currently working with elementary students in School District #204. She specializes in supporting the needs of school-aged children presented with challenges in social and emotional function, executive skills, and developmental issues. She is supervised by Dr. Paul Mullen.

Marc Anderson presents at Rosecrance event
Marc will be a featured presenter at Student Athletes as Substance Abusers, a program offered by Rosecrance on November 9 at the NIU satellite campus on Diehl Road in Naperville. He will speak on the cultures of an athlete's life and how the school and community can assist in positive outcomes, including strategies to prevent substance abuse. Registration and networking are at 8 a.m., and the conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Summer Social Skills Group

Jacey to begin internship at Loyola University Medical Center
Our intern Jacey will begin a placement at LUMC beginning this summer. Jacey will be working with bariatric surgery and medical weight loss patients, as well as conducting general outpatient therapy in an academic medical setting. Congratulations Jacey!

Dr. Mullen has headed back to school this fall. After a 1-year hiatus, he has returned to his half-time appointment as Assistant Professor in the Psychology department at North Central College in Naperville. In addition, he returns in the role of student to his alma mater Loyola University Chicago, where he enrolled in a 1-year post-graduate certificate program in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy.
